Cathy Pharoah is Visiting Professor of Charity Funding and co-Director of the Centre for Giving and Philanthropy at Cass Business School. She is an expert on the funding of the non-profit sector, specialising in philanthropy research and produces the flagship annual UK Foundation Giving Trends, now into its 9th edition, funded by the Pears Foundation. She has carried out research for government, charities and the public sector and was Research Director at Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) for 11 years. She publishes and presents widely, and is a founder and Policy Editor of Voluntary Sector Review, board member of the Barrow Cadbury Trust, and member of research advisory group Power to Change.
